Job Responsibilities:

  • Operates Lab Equipment: Trained to effectively operate equipment in the laboratory ranging from CNC sample preparation to tensile testing and, depending on the lab, OES spectrometry.

  • Accountable for Compliance: Accountable for compliance to standards on all remaining manual processes that were not able to be locked down through hardware and software upgrade.

  • Raises Testing Issues to Lab Supervisor: Is trained to understand what issues need to be reported to the Lab Supervisor. Engages in Lab Training Events: Actively participates in lab training opportunities. Engages in learning and development as a technician. Participates in formal training protocols for initial qualification followed by functional understanding of the process.

  • Becomes Testing Process Expert: Over time, develops a strong knowledge base for the mechanics of tensile testing and other tests performed in the lab. Works to gain understanding the metallurgy of the process.

  • Interprets Industry Standards: Can interpret industry specification requirements and identify compliance issues in the documentation coming down from the ERP.

  • Interprets Customer Testing Requirements: Can identify differences in testing requirements between industry and customer specific. Flags compliance issues which deviate from the standards.

  • Maintains Lab Equipment: Participates in all required PM activities and reports equipment performance issues immediately to the Lab Supervisor.

Key Requirements:

Work Experience

  • Applicable experience working within a quality department



????????? High School diploma or GED

Functional/Technical Knowledge

????????? Attention to detail with a zero-error mentality is a must.

????????? Proficient use of computer and software (Word, Excel, etc.)

????????? Proficient use on measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measure etc.)

????????? Excellent people skills and ability to interact and project a positive image

????????? Mechanical aptitude

????????? Read and interpret drawings

????????? Mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, in whole numbers, fractions, decimals and ability to compute percentage

????????? Good verbal and written communication skills

????????? Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision


????????? Ability to communicate effectively, with fluency in English

????????? Ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively with Managers, supervisors, and peers


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
